Amy & James’ Ivy Lodge Wedding
Amy and James were married at Ivy Lodge on the hottest day of the year. Their story began months earlier when they bought a kitten from me, and it felt special to see everything come full circle, because that makes us family right?
A First Touch Before the Ceremony
Amy & James got ready at the Matara House with their family. A stunning building elegantly and playfully furnished.
They shared a first touch: no peeking, just hands met around a wall, no rush, no audience aside from me. It was quiet and kind of grounding.
Then we all headed to Cirencester. The summer ceremony was held outside at Ivy Lodge. The heat was intense, but everyone adapted. Drinks were passed around, water was readily available and the atmosphere stayed warm and happy.
Outdoor Ceremony at Ivy Lodge
Amy arrived at Ivy Lodge in the wedding Landy. Her veil was caught by the warm breeze and lifted behind her, billowing softly as she stepped out. It was a small moment, but one I loved. An iconic moment to start a very special wedding day.
A Toasty Drinks Reception
Confetti followed straight after the ceremony. Rose petals thrown high, drifting in the warm air. Everyone moved into a toasty drinks reception on the lawn. Cold drinks were grabbed quickly, and shade was claimed, and the afternoon settled into that slow summer rhythm at Ivy Lodge.
The entrance into the wedding breakfast had real energy, Amy walked into ‘Where is my Husband’ followed by James. Music up, guests cheering, the room joyful. It suited them, relaxed, happy, fun.
Speeches were delivered with heart. A few tears, plenty of laughter!
A Warm, Easy Cotswolds Evening
The heat finally eased as the sun dropped a little behind the trees. Ivy Lodge always feels good on a summer evening. Warm air, soft light, everyone loosening up and cooling down after the day. Aperol was on tap, which suited the weather perfectly. Bright orange spritzes in every hand, that easy summer feeling thats just a vibe.
We slipped out for a few couple shots while guests topped up drinks and chatted. The grounds were quiet. Just the two of them, the warm breeze, and that golden hour light. A mix of digital and film to catch the softness of the evening.
Back inside, the party lifted quickly. Music up, dance floor full, guests ready for the night. Ivy Lodge’s layout keeps everything close, so the energy stays high. Laughter, dancing, Aperol refills, shot’s knocked back and James took to the stage to riotous applause!
