Elmore Court

Magical wedding venue

I’m a massive fan of Elmore Court, it’s so diverse and anything goes. Its one of the Cotswolds premium wedding venues. Every wedding I’ve shot there has been a blast, amazing to witness and great fun to shoot.  Its such a privilege to have been one of the venues recommended wedding photographers from day one, a relationship set to continue.  I’ve witnessed the journey this venue has taken as it evolved from a private residence to the best place to party in the area.  Elmore is an elegant and sumptuous venue deep in the heart of the Cotswolds, surrounded by picturesque Gloucestershire countryside.  It has a strong heritage and has been brought gently into modern times to become one of the UK’s most sort after wedding venues. The house is steeped in British history and has hosted many significant historical figures. The Gillyflower, added by the current owner Anslem Guise is a stunning addition.  Sympathetic to the glorious countryside it sits within but pleasingly different to the main house at Elmore.  After a elegant wedding in the charming main hall and photographs around the gardens, once the champagne and cocktails have been enjoyed it’s time to turn up the celebratory vibe and head for the evening reception.

‘Till death do us party

The Gillyflower is built from sustainable materials, using traditional methods and mirrors how Anselm and his family are preserving the heritage of the Elmore Court estate with their rewilding project. I have been involved in the family journey documenting the progress of returning the land back to its raw Cotswold beauty.  Elmores’ rewilding project has been well documented, mainly by my as a subject that lies close to my heart I was thrilled to be shown the journey the family were to embark on. Heading out with cameras over all seasons to capture the changes that are evolving over the landscape and with the flora and fauna. Shooting the wide wild landscapes and getting the lens up close to picture the details as the season come and go. Sarah Guise is a big fan of wild swimming, something I’ve been invited to join in with, I’ve yet to pluck up the courage but have enjoyed taking the canoe out around the lake.

Sitting in this rural part of England, ‘The Gilly’ is built with both function and beauty. It is born from the land, made from rammed earth and oak. The beautiful interior lighting creates a warm and cosy feel, to what is a good sized wedding reception room. This is a unique venue in the Cotswolds and the warmth and vibrancy of your wedding story sits well with my creative documentary photography. Its built for a party and for music, and is sound proof from the life outside. After the wedding breakfast and feasting  trays of Expresso Martinis do the rounds or my personal favourite the Limoncello shots.  That’s exactly the way the celebrations go, there’s a saying that ‘there ait no party like and Elmore party’ and its not wrong! Team E are totally committed to making sure you have the best time at Elmore Court

Wedding Photography at Elmore

The top notch wedding team makes my job nice and easy. They look after their suppliers and there is lots of communication between us to make sure the day goes with out a hitch. Talking of getting hitched you also have the option of saying your vows and Elmore Church. It’s a pretty country setting just down the road and makes for the perfect package if you’re planning a more traditional wedding day.  Its a junction down the M4 for me and a picturesque drive through the stony Cotswold villages.  Having photographed there so many times I can fully immerse myself straight into it.  Unpacking the Canon cameras and seeing what Elmore has to offer me on that day. Every Elmore day is different on the estate with the wedding venue lending itself to so many different styles and personalities. It’s a haven for a documentary photographer and its quirky décor allows me to bring in a unique and beautiful creative edge. With big skies for negative space photography and vibrant walls for in the moment portraits there’s so much to capture whatever the weather is doing. Some people have smoke bombs and some have fireworks it all adds to the celebration. Pizza ovens outside the Gillyflower in the summer and festoon lighting provide a wonderful evening vibe.  Elmore Court really does have it all.

Take a look at their website ELMORE COURT  . You’ll find me on the suppliers page.
